Course Overview
This four-day course provides an overview of the most relevant IPv6 security topics, providing a framework for IPv6 security architecture and implementation issues. Course participants will gain insight into industry best practice and gain a high-level understanding of the most important IPv6 security concerns. At the completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Identify IPv6 security framework
- Identify and protect your network from IPv6-related threats
- Understand how the IPv6-associated protocols work (e.g. ICMPv6, DHCPv6), how to identify them and protect your network from related threats
- Recognize the existing security solutions to protect your IPv6 network
- Understand how to apply packet filtering in IPv6
- Understand how Internet-wide IPv6 threats could happen (e.g. DDoS, transition mechanisms)

Course Audience
This course is designed for network administrators, network security engineers, security analysts, and IT professionals responsible for securing enterprise or service provider networks. It is also appropriate for network architects and engineers who plan or implement IPv6 deployments and need a solid understanding of IPv6 security frameworks and best practices.
Prerequisites
- Foundational knowledge of TCP/IP networking and IPv4 concepts.
- Basic experience with network security principles, including firewalls, packet filtering, and common security threats.
- Familiarity with routing and switching is helpful for understanding IPv6 network behavior and security considerations.
