Does your daily schedule read like this?

  • 8 hours at the office (minimum)
  • 1-2 hours commuting
  • 30-60 minutes for exercise
  • 30-60 minutes for dinner (+/- prep and eating time)

This doesn’t include variables such as children, pets, family, school, a part-time and additional responsibilities. Before you know it, you’re laying down for bed.

As busy as your life may appear, giving back to those in need in your community is essential. Volunteer work is one way to step outside your small world to help another.

Monday we took advantage of an opportunity to volunteer at the Maryland Food Bank

“Distributing more than 100,000 meals a day”

The Maryland Food Bank relies on countless hours from volunteers who assist in preparing meals, sorting and packaging the donations arriving from local grocery stores, churches, organizations and food drives. The donations and volunteer work fuels the meals and food packaged and shipped out each day.

The good will the Food Bank produces speaks volumes to the number of Marylanders and Americans who go hungry each day. If you look at the Food Bank’s blog, it’s easy to see that often people and even families must choose between eating and heating their homes. No matter what circumstance prevents a person from missing a meal or even not being able to afford feeding your children, everyone deserves a small token of good will and a warm meal.

At Phoenix TS, we couldn’t be happier to take the time out of our day to venture out there and contribute to their mission. Perhaps your office, family or a few friends can sacrifice a time in 2015 to volunteer.
