Course Overview
This two-day instructor led course provides supervisors with a comprehensive understanding of worker’s compensation regulations, processes, and best practices. Participants will learn how to effectively navigate the complexities of workers’ compensation claims and create a safe and productive work environment. Supervisors will gain practical skills to manage worker’s compensation cases, mitigate risks, and foster a culture of safety.
Course topics will include: discipline and progressive disciple, employee performance management, an effective discipline policy, appropriate levels of discipline and appropriate disciplinary actions to take, informing team members and employees, verbal and written warnings, documentation, performance review and termination policies. At the completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Understand the legal framework and key concepts of worker’s compensation.
- Familiarize supervisors with their roles and responsibilities in managing worker’s compensation claims.
- Learn effective strategies for preventing workplace injuries and promoting a safe working environment.
- Develop skills to identify and report workplace incidents and injuries promptly.
- Gain proficiency in managing worker’s compensation claims.
- Explore best practices for working with insurance providers and healthcare professionals.
- Enhance communication skills to facilitate successful claim resolution and return-to-work programs.
