Course Overview
This 2-day instructor-led course is designed to give CSRS employees an in-depth understanding of the federal retirement system and what CSRS employees should expect between now and retirement. This course will provide employees with an in-depth knowledge of retirement annuity and tax-planning and health care strategies in retirement. Understanding how their benefits work in retirement allows employees to begin preparing for their future and making informed decisions. At the completion of this course, participants will be able to understand:
- Civil Service Retirement System Benefits
- Retirement types and eligibility
- Decisions that need to be made at retirement
- Estimating retirement annuit
- The retirement benefits including Social Security, Long-term care insurance, Thrift Savings Plan, Dental and Vision Insurance, Survivor Benefits, FEGLI, FEHB, TSP, LTC, etc.),
- Steps to enhance financial comfort and financial planning
- Estate planning considerations
- Tax and Legal Issues
