Course Overview
This intermediate-level 4-day course prepares IT professionals to assume the role of a Collaboration Communications Systems Engineer. Participants will learn how to plan, configure, deploy, manage and troubleshoot collaboration-communications systems based on Microsoft Teams — including Teams Phone (PSTN connectivity: Calling Plans, Operator Connect, Direct Routing), Teams meetings/webinars/town-halls, Teams Rooms (and Surface Hub devices), and certified devices. Hands-on labs and real-world scenario work emphasise secure collaboration practices such as least-privilege access, identity protection, conditional access, and threat monitoring using tools like Microsoft Defender, the Teams admin centre, PowerShell, and the Call Quality Dashboard. At the completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Design and implement Teams Phone with PSTN connectivity (Calling Plans, Operator Connect, Direct Routing)
- Manage Teams meetings, webinars, and town-halls
- Configure Teams Rooms and Surface Hub devices
- Monitor and optimise performance using Teams admin tools, PowerShell, and the Call Quality Dashboard
- Apply identity and access management best practices within the communications-collaboration systems context

Prerequisites
To best benefit from this course, participants should already have general knowledge of:
- Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Teams – familiarity with Teams environment, meetings, channels, basic voice/calling architecture.
- Basic networking, telecommunications, audio/visual and meeting-room technologies (bandwidth, QoS, media flows, room-layout/peripheral-devices).
- Identity and access management fundamentals (Azure AD, conditional access, least-privilege access, device/resource accounts).
