The Maryland STEM Festival 2015

October 9, 2015

Guest Author

From November 6th to the 15th the first ever Maryland STEM Festival takes place. Across Maryland students of all ages have the opportunity to attend educational events to meet, listen, and learn from the organizations and technology leaders in Maryland.

Why Maryland Benefits with the STEM Festival

Maryland stands as a leader in the cyber security and overall technology field in the United States. With countless innovative and leading cyber security focused companies and technology professionals throughout the greater Baltimore, Columbia, and Washington, DC areas, the state holds the opportunity to influence further development among talented and capable youth looking to invest in technology careers.

“We will inspire the next generation of STEM leaders”

With the assistance of the Baltimore Chapter of Information Systems Security Association (ISSA) we will host a STEM Festival event on the benefits of a cyber security career this upcoming November. Join us for a Night of Cybersecurity a evening event held at Phoenix TS to promote careers in cybersecurity. This event is ideal for:

  • High schoolers interested in pursuing cyber education
  • College students interested in pursuing cyber careers
  • Young tech and cyber professionals looking to grow their careers

The Tech Community Needs to Give Back to Maryland Youth

As a company entrenched in information technology and cyber security training for tech professionals in Maryland, we see these events as essential opportunities to help shape and influence Maryland’s youth. This early exposure keys the development of a more capable and well-developed technology workforce that will ideally meet the ever-growing cyber security job demand in Maryland and elsewhere.

If you are a local cyber security business or professional, see how you can become involved and give back through such opportunities as the Maryland STEM Festival or volunteering your time as a mentor at a local high school STEM club.

We hosted a training for the Howard County High School students in September last year. We saw the eager and curious faces, heard great questions, and witnessed the ambition of young technologists (as Claude Williams would say) embrace cyber security. Part of being a leader in our tech community is giving back to help shape the future growth of young adults.
