Course Overview
This 1-day instructor led course will review and demonstrate general protocol in Business and Professional Writing. In business writing, the language is concrete, the point of view is clear, and the points are well expressed. Good writing is hard work, and even the best writers get discouraged. However, with practice you can feel more confident about your own writing. This workshop will give participants the tools to become better writers. At the completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Identify the value of good written communication
- Write and proofread their work so that is is clear, concise, complete, and correct
- Review basic concepts in sentence and paragraph construction
- Develop better awareness of common spelling and grammar issues in business writing
- Apply basic writing skills in real world situations
- Determine the basic structure of agendas, email messages, business letters, business proposals, and business reports
- Utilize tips and techniques to use when deciding the most appropriate format to use for agendas, email messages, business letters, business proposals, and business reports
- Define proofreading and understand techniques in improving proofreading skills
- List guidelines in printing and publishing business writing
