Course Overview

This course provides a foundational understanding of SharePoint security principles. Participants will learn how to protect content, manage access, and apply best practices to safeguard SharePoint environments. The course is designed to give users confidence in implementing basic security measures and understanding potential risks. At the completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand basic SharePoint security concepts and terminology.
  • Identify different types of permissions and access levels.
  • Apply fundamental strategies for securing SharePoint sites and content.
  • Recognize common security risks and how to mitigate them.
  • Manage users and groups to ensure appropriate access.

Prerequisites

  • Basic familiarity with SharePoint (creating sites, uploading documents, navigating libraries).
  • General understanding of Microsoft 365 environment.
  • No prior security experience is required.
