Course Overview
This course provides a comprehensive introduction to R, a powerful programming language and environment for statistical computing and data analysis. Participants will gain practical experience with the essentials of R, including data manipulation, visualization, and basic statistical modeling. The course also introduces more advanced topics, such as regression, time series, and simulation, allowing participants to develop a strong foundation for applied data analysis.
At the completion of these participants will be able to:
- Navigate the R environment and utilize its basic features.
- Import, clean, and manage data using data frames.
- Create and customize visualizations in R.
- Apply basic statistical methods, including probability distributions, testing, and regression analysis.
- Understand and implement more advanced modeling techniques, such as generalized linear models and survival analysis.
- Develop simple simulation models and interpret the results.
- Gain familiarity with specialized statistical methods, including multivariate analysis, Bayesian statistics, and spatial statistics.
