Course Overview
This three-day instructor led course equips IT professionals with the knowledge and skills to implement IPv6 in real-world networks. Participants will explore IPv6 fundamentals, key mechanisms, and security considerations, while learning practical strategies to integrate IPv6 alongside existing IPv4 infrastructure. Through hands-on guidance and planning insights, this course prepares network administrators, engineers, and designers to manage a smooth transition to the next-generation Internet protocol.
At the completion of this course, participants should be able to:
- Describe IPv6 addressing, header structure, and messaging formats.
- Configure essential IPv6 functions, including address assignment, discovery, and conflict prevention.
- Evaluate network services and protocol compatibility for IPv6 deployment.
- Apply security measures specific to IPv6, including IPSec and enterprise best practices.
- Execute transition strategies such as dual-stack implementation, tunneling, and protocol translation.
- Understand Mobile IPv6 concepts and applications for modern networks.
- Develop practical deployment plans, including address allocation, integration methods, and operational best practices.
