Course Overview
This 3 day, instructor led course prepares participants for the AWS Certified Data Engineer – Associate (DEA‑C01) certification by focusing on core data engineering workflows on the AWS platform. Participants will learn how to ingest, transform and store data at scale; design optimized data architectures; monitor and maintain data pipelines; and implement robust data security and governance practices. Through a mix of conceptual instruction, service walkthroughs, hands‑on labs and exam‑style questions, learners will build the knowledge and skills needed to manage real‑world AWS data engineering solutions. At the completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Design and implement efficient data ingestion and transformation pipelines using AWS services such as Amazon Kinesis, AWS Glue, Amazon S3, and Amazon Redshift.
- Select and manage appropriate data storage solutions based on use case requirements (e.g., Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon S3 data lake, Amazon Redshift) and apply data modelling best practices.
- Operate and optimize data pipeline workflows, including scheduling, monitoring, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and cost analysis.
- Apply data security, privacy, and governance controls—such as IAM roles, encryption, auditing, and data cataloging—to ensure compliant and secure data architectures.
- Prepare effectively for the DEA‑C01 certification exam by understanding exam domains, question types, weighting, and conducting practice labs and mock exams
