Course Overview
In this four-day course, participants will gain the skills to design, implement, and manage data engineering workloads within Microsoft Azure. Learners will work with key Azure tools and services, including Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, Azure Stream Analytics, and Azure Databricks. The course emphasizes core data engineering practices such as building and managing data pipelines for transfer and transformation, handling data within a data lake, developing and populating relational data warehouses, processing real-time data streams, and monitoring data assets and lineage across the Azure ecosystem. At the completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Examine different compute and storage solutions available in Azure for data engineering workloads.
- Use serverless SQL pools to run interactive queries on data.
- Conduct data exploration and transformation tasks within Azure Databricks.
- Utilize Apache Spark to explore, transform, and load data into an Azure Data Warehouse.
- Ingest and load data efficiently into the Data Warehouse.
- Apply data transformation processes using Azure Data Factory or Azure Synapse Pipelines.
- Combine and integrate data from notebooks with Azure Data Factory or Synapse Pipelines.
- Enable hybrid transactional and analytical processing (HTAP) through Azure Synapse Link.
- Implement comprehensive end-to-end security measures in Azure Synapse Analytics.
- Execute real-time stream data processing with Azure Stream Analytics.
- Build a complete streaming data solution using Event Hubs and Azure Databricks.
